Podcasting is a growing feature of online information provision, and the ease and convenience of downloadable audio files from PCs to iPods, mp3 players, and even mobile phones is changing the way that people source information.

Podcasts have the added advantage of being portable, listened to on the move in addition to being available on a website. Via a simple xml feed URL, podcasts can be subscribed to, thereafter they will always delivered in an individual’s PC or MP3 player. This way you can automatically push your news and information direct to customers and stakeholders rather than relying on them to repeatedly come to your site to find the information they are looking for.

A smart podcast should ideally do the following things:

  • inform and entertain, adding colour to your online information offering
  • summarise key information in an easily digestible form
  • give customers enough information in synoptic form to drive them through to longer sources of information available from your website
  • engage your customers and stakeholders in a way that keeps them up to date with your news and developments

A narrative solo voice podcast, usually the Chairman or Chief Executive of a company who needs to succinctly summarise company performance or announce new initiatives or corporate developments. Be warned – less is more! WiseTiger can work with you to edit a top dog podcasting script and produce your audio which should ideally run to no more than 10 minutes of edited audio.
