Wadworth 150th anniversary, Simon tags along for the ride.
An incredible three days; 150 miles for 150 years.
Wadworth’s 150th Anniversary Charity Bike Ride was a triumphant success, with the riders (including Wisetiger, Simon) pedalling 150 miles from The Kings Arms in Fulham to The Riverside near Bath.
Along the way, we retraced the footsteps, or rather the pedal strokes, of our founder Henry Wadworth, who first made this historic journey back in 1869. This time, we did it with an amazing team spirit, plenty of pint stops, and all in support of two brilliant charities: Julia’s House and the Licensed Trade Charity.
Lots of pub stops along the way, which was more than just a chance to rest – it was a reminder of the community spirit that runs through Wadworth pubs and a chance to meet many people and eat lots of cake!
Every mile cycled raised money for Julia’s House, providing outstanding hospice care for children and families, and the Licensed Trade Charity, supporting people across our industry.
There was much conversation about when we'll all get back together for another charity ride, and the good news is we agreed we wouldn’t wait for another 150 years!
If you haven’t had chance to support yet, there’s still time:
