Wadworth also own nineteen of their own pubs, all who have their own websites and we were asked to take on the task to redesign and build and host these sites.
Wadworth, whose corporate colour brand is largely dark blue, was looking for a new colour palette that was more in keeping with their pub’s actual style, interiors and menus and which would be more sophisticated and elegant than their existing websites projected. The design needed to project a more welcoming and engaging user experience that was easy to navigate and imagery and colours that were soft, friendly and upmarket to draw the customers in.
The new sites have been designed with usability and accessibility in mind and with strong calls to action to drive customers to make bookings. A thoughtful approach was taken over optimising each site for search engines, making sure they return strong conversion results for customers looking for dinner and accommodation locally.
Built in TYPO3, the multi-site capability of the content management system allows Wadworth to control over 80% of the content on all the websites centrally, ensuring consistency and accuracy across the brand. Pub managers then have the autonomy and ability to update certain areas of their own site for advertising events and suchlike.
Our Director, Andrew Shaw comments, “When our friends at Wadworth asked us to plan, design, build and launch nineteen new websites within an eight week window, we naturally said yes, no problem! The result is a great new look for each, as well as an improved user experience, social media integration, SEO and of course smooth connectivity with existing third-party booking programs. Both Wadworth and ourselves are really pleased with the results."
